Two hours after its departure whoa four miles off the land, the vessel liegan to till, it ia believed, owing to cargo shifting. It gradually canted and capsized. The passengers and crew, nunil" ring altogether between seventy aud eighty, succeeded in launching boatrf and a raft. During the excitement a passenger, named David Clairke, collapsed aud expired. At the time of the disaster, the leather was tine and misty, rain falling, and a light wind prevailing. Relief was sent to the shipwrecked people, who sived only the clothes in which they stood.
