TAIIIKI. From Our Own Correspondent). The cheese factory picnic was held at Mr. .). Knowles' on Tuesday last, ami was a great success. Although several suppliers were unable to attend, a large company assembled, and a wry pleasant day was spent. Sports and games were held in the afternoon. The tug-oi'-war, Surrey road v. Tariki and Waipiiku] created considerable interest. The victory of the former after a hard-fought struggle was most popular, and it was generally conceded, even by the vanquished team, that the winners were a "tough lot." It was decided that the picnic should be held annually, and next year a sports programme should | )( . pre. I viously arranged. The general harmony of this eompanv and the universal confidence of the shareholders in the directors and factory staff compare favorably with the somewhat volcanic condition prevailing in a dairy company not 100 miles distant.
