Per Press Association. Napier, Last. Night. Tile military tniiriinmcnt in connection with tlie carnival was commenced today. About 400 competing volunteers were present. The following arc the results:—
Signalling—Morse (Wellington Post and Telegraph Rifles), 1 and 2; PonsOnby Naval Artillery 3. Bugle Competition— Bugler C. Knock (Napier Cadets) J, Buglers G. Waddinfton and C. H. Smith (both of Christchurch Imperial Ritles) 2 and 3. Tug of War—Napier Fire Police h Podding Mounted Ritles 2. Physical Drill—Wellington fitv Ritles 1, Invercargill City Guards 2, llu'tt Va 1 - ley Rides 3. Tent Competition— Grey town Rides 1 Palmerston North Riiles 2. Ambulance Competition— No. 5 Wellington Field Hospital Hearer Corps, and Napier St. .John's Ambulance equal first. Bayonet fighting —Wellington civil Service Ritles 1, Invercargill City Guards 2, Palmerston North Rifles S.
