NAPIER CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA. Per Press Association. Napier, Last Night. The championship regatta in connection with the carnival was held in t'ne inner harbor to-day, the remainder if the championship swimming events al-o being got off at the same time. The

weather was fine in the morning, out a heavy shower fell about 10.30, and showers fell intermittently until 1.30,

when the weather cleared somewhat. The water was rather lumpy, but uot such as to seriously interfere with the rowing. The following are the results: Maiden Sculls, one mile—Christensen (Wanganui Union) 1, Kobertsou (Stir, Wellington) 2, Dustin (Gisborne) 3. Snow (Xapier I also competed. Won by a length and a-half. Time, Smiii 20 sec.

light-weight Maiden tour?, one mile —Xapier 1, Gisborne 2, North Shore :i. Aramoho also started. Won by three lengths. Champion Sculls, one mile and a-hali. —G. Whelch (Akaroa) 1. K. McDonald (Wanganui) 2, C. A. Poll (Napier Union) 3. Green (Wanganui), Stokes (Aramoho), and Fell (Star) also started. Won by twenty lengths.

Maiden Fours, one mile—Xapier 1, Canterbury 2, Star (Wellington) X Gigborne, Wanganui Union, and l'overy Bay Sho started. Won by half a length. Time, 6min 25see. The Star crew entered a protest for an alleged

foul, but it was disallowed. Maiden Double Sculls, one mile. — Wellington 1, Xapier Union 2, Napior 3. Won by four lengths. Time, 7m:n Champion Fours, two mile*. Blenheim No. 2 1, Waitemata 2, Clifton (Waitara) 3. Canterbury, Akaroa. Piston, Wanganui Union, and Blenheim N i. I also started. Blenheim, Akaroa. Clifton, and Canterbury were prominent for a mile and a-quarter, when Blenheim, putting in some good work, drew out and won by three lengths. Time, II huh ITT-CC. Youths' Four-, one mile.—Star I Wellington) 1, Wanganui Union 2. Xapier :t. Won by half a length.

Napier, Canterbury, ami Poverty Bay also rowed. Won by a length. Time, 9min 20see.
