SUBMARINE DISASTER AVERTED.
SAVED BY COOLNESS. Paris, March 22. Owing to the misunderstanding of an order the French submarine Ventors, while manoeuvring at Cherbourg, suddenly plunged and struck rocks at a depth of ten fathoms.
The hull was extensively damaged -and the propellers rendered useless. The coolness displayed by ttio captain and crew enabled all to make a miraculous escape.
