A circular was received from the Edution Board, notifying that free railway passes are in general only granted , to holders of scholarships travelling to eondary school nearest their home nt in any case without the special .Minister, to any secondary school other than that nearest their home. Free tickets would in exceptional be issued (with the permission of the Minister) to holders of Education Board senior scholarships to travel to a school other than the nearest secondary school, if that nchool is one approved by the Board that giants the scholarship'. The Treasury notified that £3OO (lieI ing grant for additions to the HiV], School) had been placed to the Board's credit at the Bank of New Zealand.
