The big Hood in the Narrabri river is still rising. The suburbs of the town and all the surrounding country are submerged. People are nocking refuge, in the highlands. They have had exciting experiences rescuing stock.
IN QUEENSLAND. COMMUNICATION STILL INTERRUPTED.
Sydney, March IS. Telegraphic communication with Queensland is still interrupted by the floods, and there is no immediate prospect of restoration. -Messages for .Brisbane are being cabled via New Zealand. Brisbane newspapers just received show that the flood in the I'.risljane river submerged a wide suburban area. The drowning of const ililo Jlurtagh was surrounded with pathetic circuntstand'Os. His companions did not give up the attempt to rescue him until they 'were completely exhausted.
