TRADE WITH CA.VADA.
Wellington. March 18. Mr. .1. Graham Gow. the special commissioner sent to Canada by the finvcrmnent to inquire into the possibilities of trade between Xew Zealand and that country, has presented his report to the Government. He states that there is unquestionably a good market for New Zealand mutton in Western Canada. The long cold winter makes sheep-raising in Canada impossible, and irn|>orters prefer Xew Zealand to Australian meat. In Toronto he found many inquiries for Xew Zealand wools. Fie considers there is a market for canned meats, jams, and fruits in the Yukon territory if X T ew Zealand producers can meet the prices of the Tailed States and Kastern Canada, hut he found that Canadians had the impression that, whenever they asked for a quotation in Xew Zealand, it was made as high a- po-ihle.
