ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Per Press Association. Gisbornc, Saturday. A bushfcller named Michael Cruickslianks was killed by a falling tree at Talvoro. His mate had a narrow escape. Four men carried the body three miles over rough country and packed it to Wharchopoe, occupying 23 hours in going 28 miles. Deceased was single. His mother and sister live in Gisborne. Duncdin, Last Night. The body of William .rones, an oldage pensioner, aged nearly eighty years, was found in the bush at Lcith Valley yesterday. Deceased, who was a bachelor living by himselr. worked in the bush, for nearly forty years. It is surmised that he slipped on some greasy logs and fell on liis axe. which, gashed his cheek so badly that he bled to death. Deceased was a native of Wales.

A young man named Percy Hall, about 20 years of age, employed by Mr. W. G. Glasgow on his farm at Purangi, was found drowned in the Waitara river on Friday. He had gone out early to muster stock, and on his way he had to ford the river. As he was away

longer than the expected time, another man was sent out to assist him if necessary. This man found Hall's coat near the' river-bank, and later on his body was found. Death is believed to have resulted from accident.
