iCTIXG-PREMIERS INFLUENCE. London, March 11. The Standard attribute Cabinet's definite statement regarding naval construction to Mr. Asquith's growing ascendancy. The paper declares that Mr. Asquith U trying to induce Cabinet to break »W»y from the Socialists. He deputed Mr. F. Maddison (Radical) to move the rejection of Mr. J. H. Wilson's Unemployed Bill, which provides that registered unemployed men and their dependents are to be maintained at the public expense.
THE DUBLIN JEWELS ROBBERY. A MINISTER'S PROTEST. Received Jtth, 9.37 p.m. London, Ifarch 12. In the House of Commons, Mr. BirrelJ, Secretary for Ireland, in reply to Mr. William Redmond, protested against the Tery cruel and offensive Press statement regarding the Dublin crown jewels robbery. He added that no grave criminal scandal had been discovered and nobody was sheltered from prosecution.
