PROVINCIAL NEWS
WARJJA. A meeting of the Warca Athletic Club; was held in the library on Saturday evening. Mr. H. Corbett was appointed starter for the running events, and Mr. A. Guy for the chopping. It was decided to obtain' cards in preference to books for the programmes. Mi'. A: Corbett was appointed gatekeeper. The judges for the running will be: Messrs. li.Aylward, G. P. Jones, T. Julian, senr., i al * . Gu y- There w r as a fair number of nominations received for the running events. There are close on 130 members' tickets already sold. The pumpkin seed-guessing competition at the recent horticultural show was won by Mr. A. Clothier, who guessed .130 seeds, the total number of seeds being JJUO. The weather has been very wet this last week, and there is no sign of it breaking 'at present. The secretary of the library has been informed that' the Government subsidy for the library will amount to £5 10a Id. This is Ills'motto than last year. A rifle practice was held at the Warca range on Saturday. There were few present, but some fair scoring was done.
