TARANAKI BOW'LINU ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL meeti.v;. Tliv animal meeting of the 'L'armaki Cowling Association was held hi. llawera on Tuesday night. Mr. J. I', l-'oy (president of the Hawera Ciul>) in the chair. There were between jU ami (iU members present. THK NEXT TOUIt.VAMKNT. Mr. R. Dingle (Stratford) .slid that owing to their green not having been uuitc lit the tournament unfortunately could not be held in that town this year. However, the green would be playable next year, and he felt that the " 11)09 tournament ought to be held in Stratford. Hi! had much pleasure in moving in that direction.

In answer to Mr. L. Hill (Eltham), the president said it was not intended to hold the tournaments continuously in one town. Mr. J. 1). Morison (Stratford) supported and seconded Mr. Dingle's motion, which was carried unanimously. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following officers were elected unopposed:—President, Mr. R. Dingle (Stratford); vice-president, Mr. L. Hill (Eltham); secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. L. Betts (Stratford). WAVERLEY CLUB.

Considerable time was taken up in discussing a motion by Mr. Mason (Pihania), seconded by Mr. J. D. Morison (Stratford), that the Waverley Club be admitted to the Association.' It was thought hy some members that, as the Association had already nine clubs (anij there was a possibility of Waitara cone} ing in) that they would be making the Association and the tournaments too large were any further club admitted. Against this it wa.s pointed out that the tournament could be divided and held in two different towns. This was considered impracticable owing to the unsuitability of the train services and other causes. It was also pointed out bv tho»c_ anxious to admit the southern club into the Association that it "stood alone." inasmuch as it could not join the Manawatu Association. Wanganui being the southern boundary, and Patea was the southern boundary of the Tavanaki Association. Waverley was practically a neighbor, and should bo affiliated with Taranaki. The president .said there was a rule which provided that only clubs within the old Taranaki provincial boundaries could be admitted to the Association. This role was amended (by 28 votes to If!) to include "Waverley and such oilier clubs a.s the Association may from time lo time decide."

Tlio chairman, at the ve<|iie«l of the ineetiiiL'. withdrew a further amendiiieiit thai '\V:iiiHiiinii and Waitotara lie admilted to (he Association. Tt was pointed out fliat 'Yanganui was already a member of the Manawatu Association, and fhat there was no likelihood of Waitofava forming n club for Hie next ten years.

Tildes governing the working t>f the A«»neiation were submitted from a meeting of the delegates. Some few minor amendments were made, and the majority were approved.—Star.
