SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
Sydney, March 4. Fogwell, the .sculler, says Tresidder was not at his best, when he met Webb. Ho showed no dash. He had always lelt too sure and appraised Webb too cheaply. Fogwell speaks highly of the Wauganui course, Per Press Association, Gisbornc, Wednesday-. The sculler Tresidder arrived here today. He was welcomed by members of the rowing community. lie states that he has not yet made up his mind whether to settlo in the Dominion. Referring to the Sydney cablegram giving Fogwell's opinion of the race, he states ' that Fogwell is quite incorrect. He in no way under-estimated Webb's capabilities, recognising that h e had a very bard race to rof. He considers that he (Iresiddcr) rowed as well as ever in his lite and showed plenty of dash, hut was fairly and squarely be.iten bv the Wanganui man.
