COALMINING DISPUTE.
THE OUTLOOK NOT IMPROVED.THE POSITION STRAINED. Received March 1, 4.43 p.m. Sydney, February 20. The Newcastle miners' committee of management, after two days' consideration of the question regarding the submission of evidence in camera to the special coal court, resolved that the federation could not accept the ovidence in camera. All the evidence, the committee holds, must be given in open court. will be submitted to special meetings of miners on Monday, along with a suggestion that if either party refuses to give evidence because if published it might be prejudicial to either party's financial position, the Court be asked to examine such evidence and decide whether there is grounds for the sustaining of the object tions.
The position is now strained, as the President of Hie Court has definitely ruled that he will accept in camera evidence in reference to the financial position of the colliery companies.
