AS APPRECIATION.
To the Editor. Sir, —Just a word of praise, ill. Editor, to the Band Contest Committee. It was a pleasure to see everything go so smoothly, and it shows that we have amongst us as good business men as are to be found in New Zealand. Ouc visitor told me that lie had attended every contest held in New Zealand for the last six years, and he hadn't seen one run so well before. Wo all knoiv the hard work that is needed in these thing*, and I for one thoroughly appreciated the thoroughness with which everything was done, and was pleased to see their efforts rewarded by such a successful issue.—l am., etc., W.H.B.
