Auckland, Friday. Act, 1007, provision is made for givin" preference to !..ndless applicants in [ Crown land ballots. The first application of the new Act in Auckland is ill regard to (>3OO acres in the counties of Wnitoino, Whakatane, Wliano-arei Otawatca and Waitcmata. The ballot' was arranged for yesterday, but was postponed to March 10 in order that the l.and Hoard might discover which of the applications were landless and entitled to preiercuce.
