Despite the alino-l toneutial downpour on Tuesday, the moriiiug of Wednesday broke glmiou-ly line, and the day remained perfect for the New Plymouth Caledonian Society's second annual *ports, and the Athletic Union's championship meeting. The Caledonian i Society's executive ha- worked must energetically of Lit.-, with a view of making the mectin- what a championship gathering should be. and. although some of its foremost worker- have been at the same time leading spirits in the lkuid Contest, to their credit let it lie said that the hundreds of visitors from all parts of the colony, including many of the principal personages in the New Zealand athletic world, were immensely pleased with the manner iu which all tie arrangements were carried out.
