Dunedin, Last Xight. The death occurred to-dav of Mrs. Peter Milne, wife of the well-known' Presbyterian missionary in the New Hebrides. Mrs Milne shared her husband's labors for many years in the Islands. A short time" ago she came to Dunedin to make a home for her family. On Monday she sustained an attack of Island fever, but as this was no new experience, no alarm was felt. Yesterday she became unconscious and died this afternoon,

DUNEDJX'S ELECTRICAL UXDEKTAKING. Dunedin, Lust Xight. At a meeting of the City Council tonight the town dork presented it report on the city's electrical undertaking (Waipori electric light and power at Waipori). In the course of liis report the town clerk stated that the revenue from June 1 to December 31. 1907, seven mouths, was £0257 7s 2d, or at the rate of £10,720 18s for the year. The expenditure for the same period was £9407 7s, plus £490 interest on overdraft, or at the rate of £IO,OIB 18s per annuiu. This showed, virtually, a loss Of £OOOO per annum, but as the November and December revenue will show a better average than the previous months, it may be safe to assume that the Council is £SOOO per annum to the bad, and this without any charge of depreciation or sinking fund,' the formation of which should be provided for. The town clerk recommended that the position of the city's electricity undertaking should be carefully reviewed from all points. The report will be considered at a Special meeting of the Council, in conjunction with a report on corporation trading business by the chairman of the Finance Committee, OBITUARY.

WELLINGTON WATER SUPPLY

Wellington, Last Xight. There is now aibotit eight feet of water in the city reservoir, enough to hist for three weeks. It had been intended to cut off supplies to-day from users of extraordinary quantities, but the Council to-night decided, in view of the great economy that was being exercised by the citizens, to continue permission to use water in the ordinary way in the hopes that rain may fall shortly. The question has become a very acute one now. and this seems to be recognised by everyone, for the daily consumption in the city falls far below the average.
