Police boats rescued many people! from the roofs of houses in the inuiidater area around Newcastle. From one residence round when the water was ten feet deep, sixteen \vere_ rescued. The latest reports frein Maitland is that the flood, after rising to !10 feet, is now falling. Many farms are inundated.
A timely warning prevented losses of stock.
At Bowraville sixteen inches of rain has fallen—ten in 24 hours.
