Mrs. luiberts, wife of Lieut.-Colonvl Roberts, X.U., died at Tauranga last week alter a long illness. Mr. W. E. Thompson, of the Wellington telegraph stall ~ bc M appointed postmaster at Opunake. The Rev. Father Ainswortb, who is being transferred from Wellington to Hokitika, received several presents last night, including a purse of sovereigns from the congregation of St. "Anne's parish, of which lie has had charge Press wire. ° '
