THE INTERNATIONAL MATCH. [ Received lath, 9 p.m. Sydney, February 19, ilia Daily Telegraph states that the *)' blunders lost the second international match by two points, after a delightful exhibition of football. The colonials started badly, their fieldin" being faulty. England Scored in the first minute, and increased the lead shortly after, scoring another goal. Finding themselves so much in arrears the colonials infused greater energy into their methods. A really brilliant movement, in which Smith, Todd, and Wynyard look part, ended in the last-named scoring, Messenger kicking a fine goal. The position at the interval was—Mil"land 8, New Zealand 5. On 40 minutes' play England was just, about three pomts the better team. The advantage was due the superior scrummaging. On resumption, the Blacks gave a delightful display, their splendid resourceand accuracy in passing being a re* velation to Northern Union enthusi* ast-$. Wynyard and Bo we secured tries in tue last two minutes. Byrne cot over. Turtill kicked a goal, making the scores-Kngknd 18, New Zealand 10, Had Messenger been more accurate in goal kicking the scales might have been turned. Smith, Wynyard, Turtill, and Todd were the outstanding Blacks. Smith playing a remarkably fine game. Turtill's all-round performance was a feature of the game. Messenger and Rowe the wings, were often prominent. Both teams played at their full strength. It is generally admitted that the better team lost.

Hie Daily lelegraph says that the New /onlanders were quite as good as their opponents. They lost the same by missing a couple of chances when very well placed. ,
