The annual Harvest Thanksgiving lerrioe in connection with the Church of England was held in the Hall oa Sunday evening. The hall had been nicely decorated hy the Indies of the congregation. There was a good attendance. Mr. L. H. Bell occupied the pulpit, and preached an appropriate sermon. On Sunday evening the long fpell of dry weather war- broken hy a showier of rain, and everyone was in hope* thiit we were going to have a downpour. I'nfortunately, however, the weather cleared again after very little rain had failen. The only apparent cHect of the rain was to clear the atmosphere of smoke, which had been very thick for the past few ilayß. WAREA. Tin? Church of England Jlarveit Tlianksgiving service will be held n«xt J tinnday, and the sale of produce will : be held the following evening. The hot, dry weather still continue*, and the milk supply i* still decreasing, hut the tests are rising a little. Nearly all the wells are dry in this diejrici, and the suppliers are carting water from the factory. There are nearly aa many cans taken tu the factory" for water as there are with inilk. 1 lie Xewall road creamery men have paid a visit to the factory, owing ,to the well going dry. There in not enough water to put all the supplit.V milk through, so all below the creamery ha v e to come down to the main factory.

It was decided to open an account with the National Bank nf New Zealand. The refreshment hoo'.li has been let to Mr. M. Heath, of Opuiiake, who had it last year and gave every satisfaction. The secretary was instructed to arrange about a hand. The meeting then adjourned. During the last few weeks the bush settlers have bad gome trouble with the busb tires, which have Iteen raging through all the back country in this district. A little rain fell here oil Monday morning, but the ,-ettlers in the lmsh ) wliere the !iie« were raging, and rain was wanted, did not get it.
