Auckland received yesterday stated that 1 the totara bush at Mokai was in danger of being swept away. To-day Mr. Dalziell, chairman of the Taupo Timber Co., telegraphed for particulars, and was informed that the report was incorrect, and that there was no fire in the bush or near the Mokai mill.
CARDINAL SIORAN'S VISIT. Auckland, Last Xiglit. Cardinal Moraii visited St. Patrick's Cathedral and several other Roman Catholic institutions to-day. This evening lie opened the St. Patrick's grand Dominion festival., which is being held in the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the building fund of St. Patrick's Cathedral.
