Auckland, Last Night. The seventh round o£ cricket championships commenced yesterday in ideal weather. City, playing Ponuonby, made 76 in their first innings. Ponsonby have lost six wickets for 113 in their first innings. D. Gallagher 27, Robinson 21, and Jacobsen 2D were top scorers lor Ponsonby, and White (four wickets for 24) and laeobsen (live wickets for 27) howled well for Ponsonby. Parnell, playing Eden, are all out in the first inning, for 144—Marry 3S. I.reese (not out) 25. and Uinni, 44 being top scorers, llelf took seven wickets for 50 runs for Ellen. Eden have lost two wickets for 70 runs in the first innings, Brook-Smith, 39, being the best scorer. Grafton against North Shore made 213 in the first innings—Sloman 80, Mason 30, S. •Jones 30. and Lawry 20 being top scorers, lladdoa took four Grafton wickets for 40 runs. North Shore have three wickets down for 3fl, Mason securing the three wickets for 13 runs.
HIGH SCHOOL v. URENUI JUNIORS. Tlie junior match between High School and Urenui was played on the Recreation Grounds on .Saturday, resulting in a win for Urenui. For the visitors Mabin (31) and Richards (24) were the highest scorers: whilst for the home team Severne (40) and Sinclair (10) contributed the major portion of the store.
