LONDON WOOL SALES. The New Zealand I/oau and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the' following cable from their LondoTToffice, under dale 7th inet.:— "Wool sales closed this day. As compared with last sales' closing rates prices are about par to 5 per cent, higher for greasy merino super and greasy merino medium'; about 5 per cent, lower for lambs', line crossbred, and scoured merino; about 1" per cent, to 15 per cent, lower lor merino inferior, medium crossbred, slipc crossbred medium, and slipe crossbred coarse."
AIR. NEWTON KING o AUCTION REPORT. At the llayuiarket on Saturday store pigs made 225, "weanere 6s 6d to 7s fid. Several horses were sold, hacks realising £2 15a to £4, traphorses £0 to £ll. At the mart there was a large entry ol poultry. Chicks made 7d to lid, cockerels 1« 2d to is (Id, hens Is 3d to 2s Bd, ducks Is 8d to 2s 3d. A large quantity of sundries and clothing sold at bargain rates. Fruit. Prices a. sales during the week were as fo'llows:—Plums 3s to 4s Od, peaches 4a to 7s, nectarines 3s fid to 6s, pears 4s to 6s, tomatoes (Nelson) 4s to ss, do Auckland 2e to 3s, graphs lid to Is 2d.
AUCKLAND SHEEP AND RAM FAIR. Auckland, Last Night. The first sheep and ram fair of the Seaßon in Auckland was held at the Remeura yards by Messrs A- Buckland and Sons yesterday, there being some 7fioo sheep and 600 rains yarded. On account of the dry weather and the fall in the price of wool the stock was, generally speaking, in lower condition than la t year's fair. Low-conditioned -sheep sold at about 3s Cd per head less, and other classes were also a shade lower m price than during last season. Lincoln, Romney, and Leicester rams were in good demand, but very few bidders were forthcoming for Down rams. On behalf of Mr. C T. Barriball, 11 (wo-tooth Lincoln ewes were sold to Mr. J. E. Leach at £2 2s per head, and 10 others to the same purchaser at £2 5s 3d. Mr. W. .T. Hocken's 12 ewes of the same breed were 30ld to Mr. Schedewein at £1 3a. Mr Gills' two and four-tooth ewes to the number of 40 were knocked down to Mr. Bell at £1 Is 6d. Other classes brought up to £1 Is fid. With Lincoln rams Messrs Selhy Bros, sold 12 at prices ranging from V/ t guineas to T'/t guineas. Shropshire rams sold at CI Ss to £3 3s. Romnov Marsh brought from 'C2 12s fid to £7 7s. the latter price being obtained by Mr. .1. ('h>se. Knglisb Leicester* sold at £2 2= to £4 4s. wethers (two-looth). up to Ills 3d. Lambs ranged in price from .'!- to Us.
