LAND HOARD INQUIRY. Hnnedin, Last Night. A special meeting of the Otago land Board was held to-day to consider the cases of Messrs. Mclvellar and Mitchell in connection with the Otekaikc estate. Mr. Hosking, K.C., appeared for MeKellar and Mitchell, and Mr. ,T. Cook watched the prosecution on behalf of Robert Campbell and Sons. Mr. Hosking said his clients objected to the procedure, and though they would afford the Board the fullest* information, they retained all their rights. Should the Board decide against them and that decision be upheld, that would prohahly not be the last heard of it. NEW HIGH SCHOOL OPENISD. I Dannevirke, Last Night. Ihe Dannevirke new High School was opened to-day by the Hon. G. Fdwlds in the presence of a large gathering of people. The building is a handsome brick one, and the total outlay will run into about £3OOO. A commodious technical school is attached. Mr. Fowlds arrived by the express train from Wellington at 3.15, and at once proceeded to the school. Speeches were also delivered by Mr. Hall, M.P., and Sir William Russell.
