Limbs—lu26 penned—a large yarding, three quarter? of which were -old to freezing buyers for export. La*t week'., rales iH-re fully maintained. Beet lambs 15a to 17s, medium 12s to Us, unfinished sort* 10s to 12s.
Cattle.—lo3 yarded—a medium entry. Prices showed no improvement on last week's low values. Best bullocks to £lO, good I*7 to £8 10s, medium £6 to £7, best cows and heifers to £6 15s.
Pigs.— 200 yarded—a heavy entry, in consequence of which there was a decline of 2s 6d per head all round. Suckers Ms to 15s. slips 22s to 265, stores 2Ss to 33*, porkers 37s to 425, light baeoner*. 44s to 50s, heavy 50s to Gls. ADDLNGTON MARKETS. thristchureh, February 5. At the Addington live stock market to-day there were fairly large entries in most departments and a good attend, ance. Beef again met with a dragging tale, Store sheep were in strong demand for the south and fat lambs were firm. There was no change in the quotation for pigs. The yarding of store sheep was a large one, and was made up chiefly of lambs and ewes. The presence of buyers from South Canterbury and North Otago effectcd a considerable improvement in the demand, and prices in some lines showed an advance of Is per head. Young ewes and lambs for rape were mostly sought after.
The yarding of fat lambi wa-, larger than last week, though the bulk were irregular in quality. The export buyers were operating freely at the previous week's rates, and for light and unfinished lambs graziers were competing in sympathy with the market for -tores. Light lambs improved in price, the range of values was—Tegs 15s to 17s. a lew extra to 18s, standard weights Its to las, lighter lo* 6d to 13s tkl. rape lambs 10s to 13f Gd.
The entry of fat cattle totalled 2*i head, a few pens being very prime. The (ale was again a dragging one. but prices were without change. There «> a moderate entry of fat pigs and fewstores. The former sold at late rate-. but stores were rather duller of sale. Uhoppm sold at £3 to £i, large baconers to soa, ordinary 45s to 50s, equal to 5d per lb.; porkers 35s to 45s 6d, equil to 5.1 to SV;d per lb.; large stores 25s to 30h, medium 16s to 20s, suckers 10s to 14s. At Coromandel. on Friday, there was a large muster of stock of all description-. Competition was good, and, with few exceptions, everything changed hand*. <;rown steers sold at from >£s 2s to £6 3*: two- to three-year-old do., £2 10s to £4 15s; yearlings', £1 17s to £2 8s; calve*. £1 4* to £2 Is. Beef sold at fully Newmarket rates. Fat sheep realkted 17s; stores, 89 to I4s 9d. j Cattle—At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday there was a full muster of stock of all daacriptions.
