* The Veale Estate is shortly to be subdivided and put on the market. Mr. H. F. Callaghau has the matter in hand. Apples, plums, peaches, pears, Cape gooseberries, etc. —300 boxes—will lie submitted to auction at Mr. Newton King's fruit mart at 2..'i0 this afternoon. Reliable goods at lowest figures yet named at Morey and Son's. The firm is stocktaking and prices arc tumbling. See advt. A little excitement was caused last week by an object floating on the water just outside the breakwater. It looked a bit. peculiar bobbing up and down as the tide was coming in, It drifted near the wharf, where it was boat-hooked. It turned out to be a water-tight lace boot, with "A.8.C." on the tag. bought at the A.B.C. disposing sale.—Advt. I
