At 4 o'clock this morning it wan found that emery powder had been sprinkled on to the Itearings, the sea cock opened, and tile dynamo put out of gear by its parts being saturated with oil. At the Police Court, James Campbell (the discharge fireman) was fined £2 for assaulting the engineer. He pleaded guilty, but said that he only went to get a towel, and was aggravated by the way he was spoken to. The engineer said the man knocked him senseless, knelt on his chest, and tried to throttle him. On a charge of damaging the machinery the accused was remanded.
