Uwb, of New Plymouth, formerly conductor of the Stratford Municipal Brass Band., lus been appointed inspector ot instruments.
Lite Mart on Brass Band will play "W agon Hill" at the garden party in the iiecieation Grounds on Tuesday alteruoon.
The l'almerston North Brass Band is negotiating for the use of the disused auction mart opposite the Red House Hotel as slecpiug ijuarters, and will make arrangements lor meals. Ihe Auckland first Battalion Brass Band will eaiup in the Drill Hall. Ihe Auckland Mounted Killes Band has solveil the accommodation difficulty. They will bring their camping equipment and go into camp for the contest week.
Ihe Auckland First Battalion has requested the Baud Contest Committee to endeavor to secure for them a remission of the Harbor Boards passenger toll. The Recreation Sports Ground Commute* is now putting the sports arena into thorough order tor the marching competition.
