For the last fortnight or so local theatregoers have been anxiously awaiting the production of "Brewster's Millions," and, it is safe to assert, the excellent reputation of the piece as staged by Mr. J. C. Williamson's talented company was fully upheld last night. The Theatre Royal was packed to the doors, and additional seating accommodation provided in the stalls and dress circle was inadequate to accommodate all patrons. For two and a-half hours the

members, of the audience enjoyed themselves. "Brewster's Millions" is undoubtedly one of the finest farce-come-dies ever produced in the Dominion. As the vivacious and irrepressible Monty Brewster., who sets himself the task of spending £250,000 in a year in order to inherit a turther fortune of about

two millions, Mr. Thomas Kingston certainly demonstrated his marked ability as a superior light comedian. Many of

his _ ventures, instead of helping' to liquidate the fortune, have a perverse knack of turning out excellent moneymaking mediums, and Monty is many times at his wits' end to make a "heavy loss." All the otlirr members of the

company won go' i«-i > unions from the audience for j ' ■ illiant performances. The , U magnificently staged, the yacl. ' ing a wonderful piece of si . i,m, especially that part in which a violent storm rage's around the vessel Eight from the start to the conclusion, when the £250,000 worth of receipts have been secured two minutes before the year expires, there is not an uneventful minute. It is certain that, a second performance of "Brewster's Millions" would be greeted by a full house, so distinctly favorable was the impression created last night. I
