Following are Lngliah press comments on the football match between the New Zealand professionals and fthe lorkshire representatives:— The Daily Telegraph says:—"The recent experiences of tfie New Zealandeis lea one to expect they had a. poor chance of winning any matches against representative teams, let, in meeting Yorkshire at Wakefield, the visitors gained a handsome victory, and one that was deserved from every point of view. The splendid kicking of Messenger was largely responsible lor the substantial" margin in their favor. On the other hand, the exhibition of the backa was a vast improvement on their recent displays. Success attended the colonials in the first two minutes, Messenger* dropping a goal. Subsequently Surman, the Bradford half-baeff, kicked two goals, but before half-time tries had been added for New Zealand by Tyler and Wynyard, both of which Messenger converted. The second half was marked' by a succession of brilliant for the JSew Zealanders. Great clev-' ernes® was shown by their backs, both in running. Another try* waa added by Bowe, while Messenger put on four goals. Making full allowance for the good play of the visitors, Yorkshire's play was extremely disappointing/' The Chronicle says:—"The teaniri wire thoroughly representative. Wright (the colonial captain) turned out once more after his injury. To consummate ability in kicking seven goals 1 the major honor* belong; but the New' Zealanders, from the forwards to the full-back, played in their happiest mood. Their splendid combination and brilliant individual etlort- completely overcame the opposition." The Manchester Guardian says:—
