A company of brilliant musical comedy artists, a play that is world renowned, scenery and effects unsurpassed for their completeness in every detail, and a full and efficient orchestra, are features of Mr. .1. ('. "Williamson's new .Musical Comedy Company, which is to appear here for one night only, on Friday next. '1 he production will he the dainty and fascinating mimical comedy success, " Lady Madcap," a sparkling play which has proved suth an acceptable dish with colonial theatregoers. Mr. Williamson's new company is heralded by most flattering reports as to the capabilities of its various members in this class of amusement. 'J'lic caste of ' lady -Madcap " irs a large one, and includes the full strength of the company. A special feature of this combination is the excellent chorus and orchestra, under the baton of llr. Alfred Moulton, and as a special guarantee of excellence we must mention that Mr. Henry Bracy will direct the production generally. "Lady Madcap'' can be described as theatrical fare of A 1 quality. Nothing could be more cleverly jrat together than the doings and exploits of the Earl's daughter, " Lady Madcap." She is a tomboy of the highest order, and everything' she does causes her father much worry. She invitcK a whole regiment of soldiers to a dinner, garden party and ball, simply because she falls in love with one of them. Jler doings at these functions, when she gets her maid to change positions with her, are cause enough to make laughter and merriment a most prominent featrue. The box plan will be opened at the Colonial Piano Company's 011 Tuesday morning, at 0 o'clock.

HOWARD VERNON COMPANY. There was & fair attendance at the llieatre Royal last night when the above company produced the musical comedy, '•A Trip to Chinatown." Jlr Howard Vernon interpreted the part of WcllancJ Strong (an invalid with one foot in the' grave). He exhibited his old form, his singing being of a high Older, while some of his quotations and gags werel most original and drew forth salvoes 0,l applause. Miss Vinia de Loitt<> wan artist of high rank. Her dancing is very graceful, while her singling is much above the usual standard. Her items last night were rendered in a most pleasing manner.
