MELBOURNE HIDE MARKET. Received Jan. 17, 0.57 a.m. Melbourne, January Hi. Hide- Heavies and Mediums aro flrmer; others are unchanged. LONDON" MARKETS. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cubic message from their London house, under date of the 13th inst.:— 1 | Wool.—The li-1 of arrivals is closed. The new arrivals have amounted to 1)54,000 bales, of which 181,000 bales have been forwarded direct to manufacturers at Home and abroad already, leaving 187,000 bales available for sale, which includes 14,000 bales carried forward from November series. Leather—Since our last advices prices are at par to >/ 4 d lower. Basils—Prices a<rc unchanged. Hides in general arc higher by '/id per lb.
