The Registrar-General estimates that" the population of the Dominion at thei. end of December last was 988,071, made' up as follows:--Europeans 929,000,. Maori 47,731, Cook Islanders 12,340. Arrivals in the Dominion, last year f totalled 36,108, the increase of populartion for the year being 20,295.
