Per Press Association. MINISTERIAL MOVEMENTS. Napier, Last Night. The Hon. R. McNab, Minister ot Lands, and the Hon. J. Carroll, Native Minister, arrived by the Monowii yesterday morning. They were met by the Mayor (Mr J. Vigor Brown) and driven round the town, and over i,he Whareomaraenui reserve, and in the afternoon left by special coach for Wiiroa. On arrival ut Wairoa the party went by launch to Turiroa, The Minister for Lands received several deputation!! and also laid the foundation strie
ol the new Presbyterian Church at Wairoa. He will address a public meeting at that place to-night.

NOTABLE MAORI WEDDING. Auckland, Last Night, ' A notable Alaori wedding took place to-day at Kennedy's Bay, near Coromandel, in the presence of a large number of Europeans and Maoris. The contracting parties were the Rev. H. Marsh (Ruhangi), of Thames, and- Miss Miria Ngapo, sixth daughter of Mr. Ben Ngapo, of the Ngatiporou tribe, East Coast. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Charles A. Vaughan, of Coromandel, who was assisted by the Rev. Taimona Hapimana, of Pirongia, Waikato. There were about four hundred visitors present from all parts of the district, and these sat down to a sumptuous breakfast in the schoolhouse.
THE HASTINGS FIRE. Napier, Wednesday. Johnson, charged with committing arson at Hastings, was before the Court to-day. He was remanded. Bail was allowed on a bond for £IOO. RIVER CONSERVATION. Palmerston North, Wednesday. There is taking place to-dav a conference of delegates from all the local bodies whose districts are affected by the overflow waters of the Manawatii and Oroua rivers. The object of the meeting is to formulate a scheme to restrain the flood waters and prevent as far as possible erosion of the banks. ASHBURTON STATISTICS. Ashburton, Last Night. During the past year there were five bankruptcies in Ashburton, as against nine in 1906.
