Arrangements are now well in hand for the Agricultural Society's show tq be held on the racecourse to-morrow (Thursday) afternoon. The public will be well catered for in every respect, An, excellent programme of events, good entries, and keen competition will be the order of the day. The pony race, tilting at the ring, and the three-part race are novelties which will create much interest. The Garrison and Military Bands will provide music during the afternoon. The thirsty public will be well catered for by Mr Whittle (publican's booth) and Mr Thompson (afternoon tea). Excursion fares have been arranged by the Railway Department, and the evening train has been delayed to allow country visitors to witness the whole of the programme, and to obtain refreshments be■fore leaving for Home. 1 I
All storekeepers are closing their business premises at noon. Country visitors, anxious to purchase, should note this,
There will be plenty of amusements for the children in the way of sideshows, etc. The admission to grounds (Is, children half-price) will be made to both members and non-members. 'A; large crowd is expected, as there wtere hundreds disappointed at not seeing the Society's show in November, owing to the wet weather.
