WHAT'S WANTED is a very superior well-bred colt, 0 years old, of the very best quality and true type of the Clydesdale breed, standing 10 hands 2 inches high, on short legs. He is a very massive horse, with clean, flat bones, strong aud well-formed joints, beautil'ui silky hair, and feet of good quality. He has a beautil'ui head, neck, and crest, veil-sprung ribs, and strong, short-coupled back. Altogether, lie is a most compactly built, well-put-togcther specimen of a Clydesdale horse.

WHAT'S WANTED as a yearling I gained first prize at the Egmont A. and I P. Society's Show, and first pme as a two-year-old at the 'l'aranaki Metropolitan Show. His sire, Armadale, was got by that celebrated breeding and show-ring sire Glengyle, out of the fine breeding mare Nancy, who was shown until 13 years of age, and was never beaten in her class. She won nine first and four champion prizes. Duchess of Alexander's gr. dam, Jenny, was one of the best draught mares ever brad or imported to the colony, being dam of the New Zealand and Australian champion mare, Flower of Balmoral. Ilis dam, Duchess of Alexandra, was a most successful. prize-winner, having gained the following prizes, viz.:— First and champion at Tapanui ('South Island) as a two-year-old. From the foregoing it will be seen that WHAT'S WANTED'S breeding cannot be surpassed, and he is certain to prove himself a getter of the very best type of Clydesdales. VICTORY is a brown horse, with a small white star and black points, foaled in 1903, standing 15.2 and showing great quality and Bubstance. His cannon-bone measures B'/ 3 in. He is a very stylish mover and possessed of a beautiful temper. His sire, Vanity Fair, represents the third generation of a bNUiant line of sires, bred by Mr. Burdett Coutts, wherein the notorious high-stepping Norfolk blood of old Confidence has been hardened and improved in size, bone, and quality by successive crosses of TrifHt's Fireaway, the great Yorkshire sire. His dam, Vanity, is by Vigorous (1215 E.H.5.8.) out of Lonely (648 E.H.5.8.). Vigorous is also the grandsire of that -celebrated hackney, Hedon Squire (14306), the property of Sir Walter Gilbey, Bart.
