THE THAW TRIAL.
EVIDENCE FOR THE PROSECUTION. Received Jan. 14. 8-53 p.m. New York, January 14. The evidence for the prosecution in the Thaw rase has closed. Evidence will be called later to rebut the evidence of the defence.
A Reuter's message a few weeks ago stated:—The second trial may not last more than a few weeks. Its length , will depend almost entirely upon the time required in securing a jury. This
i» expected to lie tedious work, as there •re few persons in New York County who did not read the details of the former trial, and who have not some prejudice or bias in the question of Thaw's guilt. Once the jury-box is filled, however, the attorneys expect to move forward rapidly and "with few interruption!.
Thaw, in his cell in the famous old Tomb* Prison, wh'ch be has occupied since the night of the tragedy on Madiaonsquare Roof Garden, 25th June, 1908, is said to be prepared to face his tecond trial with the same confidence of acquittal he possessed »t the first ordeal.
