The Commonwealth of Australia and Canada declined: to increase the subsidy. I Probably the service will be continued tentatively by the present contmctOTS I until the negotiations for the All Red service are settled.
On enquiry at the General Post Office in Wellington last week, the Post was informed that New Zealand simply uses the Vancouver service by subsidising a steamer to run between Ancklan(l and Fiji there connecting with the lyessels which run via Vancouver, Brisbane, and Sydney. J
