TRAIN CRASHES INTO 'BUS. Per Press Association. Auckland, Lust Night. At Avondalc to-day a train crashed into a 'bus which attempted to cross just in front of it. The. driver of the 'bus (H. Farrar), and the two passen : gere (William Shepherd, schoolteacher, of Pahiatua, and William Horton, nurseryman, of Lanie Place), wero injured, Shepherd somewhat seriously.

JUMPED OVERBOARD. Invercargill, Last Night. On the passage of the Marama from Dunedln to Bluff, Hugh Dalgleish, about 45 years of age, jumped overboard outside the Otago Heads. His body has been recovered. Deceased was eccentric.

MAORI GIRLS DROWNED. Palmerston N., Last Night. Two little Maori girls, aged two years, were drowned in the Manawatu river at Rangitane on Saturday. The body of one was found floating down the river by some Maoris, but the other has not yet been recovered. 'An inquest on the one found was held to-day, when a verdist of accidental drowning was returned.
