The supply of beef totalled 283 head, of which there wa« only a small proportion of prime quality, cows forming the greater part of the entry. The sale was a dragging one, and prices showed a further reduction. Steers brought £<l 5s to £lO, heifers £5 10s to £7 15s, row* £4 5s to £8 ss—equal to 22s 6d to 24s for prime, and 18s to 22s for cows and medium steers per lOOlbs. A full yarding of veal calvea sold up to 40s. There was a medium entry of pigs. Fats were easier, while stores sold at ] late rates. Baconers made 42« to 80.-J (equal to 4Vid to 5d per lb), porkers 28s to 40s (equal to 5d to 5%d per 1b.,.!
