ME. NEWTON KINU'S WEEKLY AUCTION REPORT. Cattle—Following close on the holidays, and owing to farmers being busy harvesting there have been smaller yardings at all saleti this week. There has, however, been a steady demand lor all classes, and prices ruling prior to the holidays have been well maintained. At Stratford, on Monday, weaners made 19s (id, yearling bteers 43s Ud, 12to la-months heifers 32s tu 33s ud, store cows £2 8s tid to £2 13s, fat and forward do. £3 17s to £4 6s, bulls £2 10s to £4 17s fid. At Rahotu, on Tuesday, 12- to 15months heiiers brought 33s to 3os, springing heiiers £3 to £4, store cows £2 12s Ud, forward do. £3 4s to £3 8s Od, fat do. £4 9s tid, store pigs 13s Ud to 225, balls £2 7s Ud to £4 4s. At Stony River, on Wednesday, weaners made 15s od to £l, 15-nionths heifers 355, store cows 37s lid to £2 10s, forward do. £2 18e to £3- (is, fat do. £3 10s to £5 8s 6d, springing heifers £3 as to £3 10s, dairy cows in milk £2 10s to £3 17s tid, small utore pigs las Ud. VICIiERS & STEVENS' REPORT. Vickera & Stevens report that there was a good entry of cattle in their lnglewood yards on Wednesday, and bidding was good, nearly all lines changing hands at the hammer or privately at the following prices:—Mixed yearlings to 15-months £1 10s to £1 15s, 20-months steers £2 lis to £2 14s Od, store cows £2 to £3 6s, 2-year-old steers £3 10s fat cows £3 15s to £4 10s. WEBSTBR BROS.' STOCK REPORT. Our first sale under 1908 date was held yesterday at Omata, when our yards were taxed to the utmost. We tad over 300 head yarded. Bidding was brisk, but settlers in many preferred to hold until prices are more settled. Good 15 months heifers made 34s 6d, empty cows £2 Is 6d to £2 12s, old cows 13b to 265, forward cows £3 10s, stags £2 3s, fat cows £4 69 to £4 10s, Jersey heifers £4 10s. Next sale Friday, 21th January.
