IX ITALIAN SOMAHLAND. BATTLE I'OU'GHT. ! LOSSES VEKY GREAT. Received Jan. 10, 10.53 p.m. Massowah, January 10. Two thousand Abysainiane have raided the Lngh territory in Italian Somaliland, killing and plundering many merchants. Some of the tribes aided with tlie Abyssiniiins and ,-ome witli the Italians. A battle ivu s fought. The losses were very great on both sides. Tt is believed King Menelik did not authorise the raid.
