Veitch (Wanganui) aud S. G. Smith (-W\v Plymouth), The voting was as follows: At New Plymouth—W. Veitch 30, S. G. | (Smith C'J, -I. Foreman (llaweru) 31, ,1. I'arry (Wanganui) l(i, K. King (New Plymouth) 22. At Hawera—W. Veitch 3U, S. G. Smith 28, J. Foreman 54, J. Parry 22, IS Kin--16. At Wanganui—W. Veitch 121, S. G. Smith 71), J. Foreman (J7, J. Parry 48, li. King 24. Totals-W. Veitch 187, S. G. Smith 163, J. Foreman 152, J. Parry 8(i, E. King 02. At Wanganui 49 refrained from voting: at New Plymouth 12; and ftt llawera 14. Mr Smith lias for *omu time been a most eilicient secretary of the local branch. Mackv. of Auckland, secured 211 votes (New Plymouth 3(1, llawera Uo, \Vaiijjanui 12D), and W. .1. Edwards, (ho present secretary. 80 (New Plymouth 32. llawera 7. Wnnpanui 51). Mr Edwards lias been a railway servants' worker for sixteen years past. Speaking of .Mr Macky, a correspondent of the Hallway Jleview says that "ia putting him forward his supporters be lieve hU election will infuse vitality and stamina into the business of the Society.
