MiU£ FEVER IN DAMY COWS. Copy of letter from Wanganui Chronicle, 22nd December, 1904:—"Sir—As it may prove useful to other dairy farmers 1 send you the following:—On tiie 10th inst. one of my befit cows calved, ller third calf. On the morning of tlic 13th she gave me a three-gallon bucket of milk, and looked tip-top. At :j o'clock that evening, coining home the padiloek I noticed ser body tckcl up and her hindquarters still'. 1 tried to milk her, but the milk was gone. As tue above were indications of milk fever, 1 gave her a dose of Sykes's Drench, and remembering that oxygen pumped into the udder was a remedy, I got a Mcfcle pump and with the part that fits in tlie rubber tyre of the bike added, 1 pumped the four quarters o£ the udder lull of air. We had to support her in tile bail while doing this. When we lett her out she staggered a few yards and fell down. About twenty minutes at-

terwards, however, to my surprise she was on Jicr feet again, and much better. By D o'clock that night she was resting comfortably. Next morning at 4.0U o'clock she was up and feeding. That evening I got 151bs of milk from tier, and site is now back to her usual flow of inilk, and as well as she ever was. I have now had eighteen years' dairy fanning, and have seen cows die, and cows recover in time, but in this in- ! siauco the quick recovery was simply marvellous.—l am, etc., J. W. McLarin, Waverley, December IS, 1004." Use only Sykes's DrenclL it is the best. Price Is Gd packet, or 10s by the dozen. Better buy it by tlio dozen.
