PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS.
Per Press Association. Wellington, Friday. Tile Premier, in reply to criticisms oil the proposal to erect Parliament Home on the site of the Governor's residence, controverted the idea that extraordinary expenditure would be needed. The difference between the old and the new sites would not mean more than £20,01)0, There was no comparison between the. two from the point of convenience. The present site had always been too cramped, and the accommodation had long been insufficient, so that m any ease a. larger building would have to be erected. Thoso who talked about expenditure should wait till they knew what it would cost to build on either site. If the difference was found to be excessive, then he would not mind, but he objected to the outcry raised before I tliey knew anything about it.
