LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.

Pei Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A large number of Crown land areas are being opened for selection in the Auckland district under the new Land Act. This applies to HuntTy, Eotorua, the King Country, and the whole district. Next month the Hewi estate, of about 3000 acres, will be thrown open, and several others early in the new year. About March, the Tautiri block, about fifteen miles from Te Awamutu, consisting of 22,000 acres, will be available. This block comprises some really fair land suitable for dairying, cattleraising, and sheep-fanning. The lands being prepared for selection are to be offered for casli with right of purchase, and under renewable lease.
