Uloxam, itcgUtrar of the Supreme Court at lnr..stuiureh. who is retiring after li'J years' service, was Hie recipient of a presentation by the members of the Canterbury Law Society yesterday. -Mr It. Slater, the retiring member of the Arbitration Court, sat as a member of tiie Court for the last time at Christchurch yr.sterday, and eulogistic references to his work were made by counsel engaged in the cases heard to-day. Presentations were made to .Mr Slater by the olliccrs of the Court, and by Jlr S. 1 frown, the employers' representative j oji the Court. I
Miss Crawford, who lnis been for eight years on the leaching stall' of the Central School; intends relinquishing Ihe profession to enter another walk of lile. On Thursday afternoon she was entertained by her class, and made Ihe recipient of a valuable presentation. .Miss Crawford was educated at the Central. and lias always been amongsl its most painstaking-and successful teachers.
