A RECENT WRECK. London, December 10. IX-uib, have been received oi the wreck of the Thomas .Law=ou at Scilly lslands, by which sixteen lives were lost. The Thomas law son was a seven

masted schooner, and tne largest schooner iu the world. Her captain declined the assistance of two lifeboats, but accepted the aid of a pilot. The pilot, however, was drowned in attempting to board the Thomas Eawsou. The vessel dragged her anchors and drilled close to the Annette rocks, and then turned turtle. The lifeboats returned. The captain was seen clinging to the rocks with his wrist broken. The pilot's son heroicaUy swam through the breakers amid the jagged rocks and rescued the captain. KEIR HARDIE IN AUSTRALIA.
